Dariacore

Dariacore is frantic internet mashup music built from pop hooks, Jersey club kicks, hard dance drops, meme samples, nightcore pitch shifts, breakbeats, sound effects, and sudden genre switches. It is purposely overloaded and funny, but the good tracks are not random; they use recognizable samples as emotional flash cards and then flip them into high-speed dance chaos. The style is also called hyperflip when artists want distance from the original joke name.
History
Jane Remover created the template under the alias leroy with the 2021 album Dariacore, whose Daria artwork and sample-heavy SoundCloud energy accidentally named a microgenre. The sound drew from Vektroid, SoundClown, YTPMV, Jersey club, dubstep, future bass, nightcore, and hyperpop, then spread through SoundCloud tags, Discords, and artists such as xaev, carbine, gum.mp3, Dazegxd, dashie, sv1, and younger hyperflip producers. By the mid-2020s, Pitchfork and other outlets were tracking a Japanese dariacore/hyperflip afterlife, proof that the joke had become a durable production language.
