Cyber Trap is trap and hybrid bass framed through sci-fi sound design: metallic leads, robotic bass shots, glitch edits, dark neon pads, and dystopian drops. It keeps trap's half-time skeleton and 808 pressure but swaps party horns for digital alarms, distorted synth creatures, and cinematic cyberpunk atmosphere. The sound overlaps with midtempo bass, hardwave, dark future bass, and gamer/anime-edited online bass culture.
History
Cyber Trap grew after the first EDM-trap wave, when producers folded trap drums into midtempo, wave, dubstep, and cinematic bass design. 1788-L, Blanke, Rezz, Lick, Shadient, ATLiens, Juelz, Hex Cougar, Quix, Eliminate, and HVDES all worked in the darker, more technical zone that gave cyber trap its identity. It has remained mostly an internet, bass-label, and festival-support style, feeding edits, gaming montages, and the more futuristic end of trap/future bass.
