Sleek, futuristic synthpop with a hyperpop edge: gleaming electropop synths, vocoded and pitched robotic vocals, Y2K-cyber sheen and clean, danceable structure pushed toward digital uncanny. Less abrasive than core hyperpop, it foregrounds chrome textures, posthuman themes and shiny machine-pop gloss over a firm pop-song spine.

History

Drew on 2010s electropop and PC Music's chrome aesthetic, taking shape as artists like Kim Petras and Slayyyter married glossy synthpop to internet-pop irony and Y2K imagery. Dorian Electra's conceptual machine-pop and Namasenda's PC Music releases pushed a futuristic, cyber-styled strain that sits between electropop polish and hyperpop's digital excess.
