Cyber Goth is dark electronic dance music tied to cybergoth fashion: neon hair falls, goggles, gas-mask imagery, PVC, industrial clubs, and stomping dance styles. Musically it pulls from aggrotech, futurepop, EBM, dark trance, harsh electro-industrial, and industrial dance. The sound is fast, synthetic, theatrical, and optimized for goth-club spectacle.

History

Cyber Goth emerged as goth/industrial club culture absorbed rave color, cyberpunk visuals, harsh EBM, and trance-era synths. VNV Nation, Apoptygma Berzerk, Covenant, Assemblage 23, Suicide Commando, Hocico, Combichrist, Grendel, Ayria, Angelspit, Icon of Coil, and Blutengel circulated heavily in the same clubs and festival spaces. The label is as much scene as genre, but it remains useful for the electronic music that soundtracked cybergoth dancing and fashion.
