Country Folk-Pop softens country songwriting into smooth acoustic-pop form while keeping twang, harmony, and country imagery in the frame. It is lighter and more melodic than alt-country, and less glossy than full-scale Nashville pop-country.
History
The style grew in the overlap between singer-songwriter country, folk-pop, and modern Americana. It suits artists who want country storytelling but prefer gentle acoustic textures and crossover-friendly hooks.
