History
Crystallized by Clipse's 'Grindin'' (2002) and Hell Hath No Fury (2006), with The Neptunes' skeletal beats setting the template. Jeezy fused the subject with trap; French Montana and Max B's Coke Wave tapes pushed it through mixtapes; Pusha T, Freddie Gibbs and Buffalo's Griselda crew (Benny the Butcher) carried it into a 2010s-and-beyond revival.
