Call-and-Response Kids songs are built on echo, leader prompts and group answers. They work especially well with children because no one needs to know the full song in advance: the leader gives a line, and the group repeats or answers it. History
Call-and-response is older than children's music as a category, rooted in work songs, spirituals, military cadence, African diasporic practice, games and folk singing.
