History
After the commercial peak of postwar West Coast blues, California clubs and festivals kept the idiom alive through Los Angeles, Orange County, the Bay Area, and regional circuits. Hollywood Fats, Rod Piazza & The Mighty Flyers, William Clarke, James Harman, Kid Ramos, Coco Montoya, Tommy Castro, and Joe Louis Walker turned California into a major modern blues performance network. The style influenced swing-blues revival, boutique guitar tone culture, festival blues, and the modern idea of a blues band as a versatile live unit.
