Bloghouse is the chaotic MP3-blog era where indie kids, electro producers, DJs, remixers, and fashion-party scenes shared distorted dance tracks through Hype Machine, Myspace, MediaFire, and RSS feeds. The sound is less one fixed genre than a delivery system: crunchy electro-house bass, indie remixes, French touch, mashups, nu-rave, maximal synths, and party photos turned into a scene. It feels compressed, neon, messy, and internet-native before streaming platforms standardized discovery.
History
Bloghouse rose when MP3 blogs could break tracks faster than labels or radio, linking Ed Banger, Kitsuné, Modular, Dim Mak, DFA-adjacent dance-punk, and electroclash aftershocks. Justice, MSTRKRFT, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, Boys Noize, Uffie, The Bloody Beetroots, Crookers, Girl Talk, Soulwax/2manydjs, and SebastiAn were core names, while remixes of indie bands made club culture feel DIY and hyperconnected. The scene faded as takedowns, social-platform shifts, and EDM professionalization changed online music sharing, but its aesthetic returned through indie-sleaze nostalgia.
