History
Bedroom dream pop arose in the mid-2010s as cheap DAWs and platforms like Bandcamp and SoundCloud let teenagers self-produce hazy, dreamy songs. Clairo's viral 'Pretty Girl' (2017), Cigarettes After Sex's slow-core ballads and Montreal's Men I Trust modeled the soft, reverbed, DIY aesthetic that streaming and TikTok then amplified worldwide.
