Beach Country is mainstream country with surfside imagery, easygoing tempo, and vacation-minded narrative framing. Compared with Gulf and Western, it is often more radio-polished and less singer-songwriter idiosyncratic.

History

Kenny Chesney was the decisive mainstream beach-country star, turning Buffett's more eccentric coastal ethos into a durable radio formula. Jake Owen, Zac Brown Band, and others carried the sound forward, especially each time country radio remembered summer existed.
