Bass Music
Located in 1 route
Bass Music is a broad post-dubstep club category defined by low-end experimentation rather than a single drum pattern: sub pressure, broken rhythms, half-time drops, UK garage swing, hip-hop influence, and sound-design-forward production. It can move through 70, 85, 100, 130, 140, or 160 BPM feels, but the bass weight and club-system thinking are the common thread.
History
The term became useful after dubstep's explosion fractured into UK bass, future garage, trap, wonky, halftime, experimental club, and festival bass. Modeselektor, Joker, Zeds Dead, G Jones, Eprom, Ivy Lab, Noisia, Alix Perez, SHADES, and TNGHT represent different branches of a culture that treats bass as architecture. Bass Music influenced trap, halftime DnB, future bass, hybrid trap, post-dubstep, experimental club, and the global festival-bass circuit.
