History
Coalesced around 2000 as Texas/Oklahoma club acts traded the solo-songwriter format for the full electric band, working the Billy Bob's-to-honky-tonk circuit. San Marcos, Stephenville and Fort Worth scenes produced touring units like the Randy Rogers Band and Casey Donahew Band whose reputations were forged onstage, fueling a self-booked, fan-driven independent-country economy that thrives on the road.
