Atmospheric DnB combines rapid breaks with vast pads, jazz chords, airy samples, and an emphasis on space and drift. It often feels like jungle viewed through fogged glass at sunrise—still rhythmic, but reflective and cinematic.
History
The style formed alongside and partly inside early jungle, especially through LTJ Bukem, Good Looking Records, Omni Trio, PFM, Seba, and Blu Mar Ten’s early lineage. It became one of the most influential alternatives to rave aggression, feeding directly into liquid, deep DnB, and a huge amount of ambient-adjacent electronic music.
