Arabic Pop is modern Arabic-language popular music that blends regional melody, tarab inheritance, dance rhythms, orchestral color, electronic production, romantic balladry and video-era celebrity. It is not one country's sound; it moves through Egypt, Lebanon, the Gulf, North Africa and the diaspora. The style often balances deep vocal tradition with concise pop forms built for radio, weddings, satellite TV and streaming.
History
Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez and Fairuz shaped the older prestige universe, while later stars such as Amr Diab, Nancy Ajram, Elissa, Tamer Hosny, Sherine, Kadim Al Sahir and Angham made Arabic pop a video and radio powerhouse. Rotana, Melody, Mazzika, satellite channels and YouTube helped unify a huge regional market while keeping dialect differences meaningful. Arabic pop remains one of the world's major non-English pop ecosystems.
