High-energy, club-aimed African pop: driving four-on-the-floor and uptempo Afrobeats kicks, big synth hooks, chant-along refrains and choreographed-dance energy. Built for festival crowds and TikTok routines, it pushes brighter tempos and punchier drops than mellow Afrobeats, fusing house and EDM sheen with shaker-and-conga warmth.
History
As Afrobeats globalized, a more uptempo, dance-floor branch took shape, drawing on azonto and Ghanaian dance crazes plus EDM. Fuse ODG's 'Antenna' and 'Azonto' crossed to UK charts in the early 2010s; CKay's 'Love Nwantiti' became a worldwide TikTok phenomenon, while Kizz Daniel and Mr Eazi fueled viral dance hits.
