90s Eurodance

90s Eurodance is the classic formula: female or diva vocal hooks, male rap or shouted verses, bright synth riffs, piano stabs, breakbeats or four-on-the-floor drums, and huge choruses. It is more pop-focused than rave, more maximal than house, and more pan-European than any one national scene. Its most durable records are direct, repetitive, and instantly recognizable.
History
The sound emerged from German, Dutch, Belgian, Italian, and Swedish producers who fused house, techno, hip-hop presentation, Hi-NRG, and radio pop. Snap!, 2 Unlimited, Haddaway, Culture Beat, Dr. Alban, Corona, La Bouche, Real McCoy, Captain Hollywood Project, Ice MC, Maxx, DJ BoBo, and Masterboy supplied the core canon. By the late 1990s, bubblegum dance, trance-pop, progressive house, and teen-pop production had absorbed or softened much of the style, but the original hits remained durable party records.
