History
The prominence of 528 Hz stems from the Solfeggio revival of Dr. Joseph Puleo and Leonard Horowitz and especially Horowitz's 2011 book The Book of 528: Prosperity Key of Love, which promoted the tone as a universal healing and "love" frequency. Sound-healer Jonathan Goldman had already foregrounded 528 in works using Solfeggio tuning forks, and Michael Tyrrell's 2014 Wholetones dedicated a full disc, Transformation, to the frequency, while Steven Halpern's healing catalog embraced tone-tuned meditation. The streaming and YouTube boom turned "528 Hz" into a search-driven micro-genre carried by countless meditation channels, remaining a signature of frequency-based wellness audio though its medical claims lack scientific backing.
